Get ISO 9001 Certification and its Benefits

ISO is an independent International Organization for standardization. One needs to choose from the different ISO Certifications such as ISO 9001 2008, ISO 27001, ISO 14001, ISO 22008, etc. which one wants one’s company to be certified to.

Requirements of ISO 9001:

The requirements for ISO 9001 are separated into 8 sections, five of which are mandatory. They are as follows:
General Quality Management System requirements (clause 4)
       Management responsibility (clause 5)
       Resource management (clause 6)
       Product realization (clause 7)
Measurement, analysis and improvement (clause 8)
Clauses 1,2 and 3 include no requirements but to deal with the scope of the standard, references to understand the standard better and terms and definitions.

Benefits of the ISO Certification?

Manufacturing companies have adopted ISO 9001 for the following reasons:
To meet the customer requirements as many customers prefer buying a product from a company only when it is ISO certified.
Achieve International Quality recognition and get more revenue and business from customers by advertising it.
The company can improve its product quality and itself, etc.

The Process of getting Certified

At first one needs to choose a certification body and apply to it.
A contract will be signed between the applicant and the registrar.
The ISO auditor will then check if the company has all the requirements for the certification
After this, it will give the certificate.

There are several ISO 9001 Consulting Sectors who expertise in helping the companies to develop and maintain management system. They also help in achieving accredited certification where required. A good consultant is one who understands the processes that are part of the client’s company and the best way to approach the implementation of the ISO 9001 requirements.
